Novartis India Ltd. organised and sponsored a TB camp in association with Rotary Club of Ambala, on 19th Jan 2003, at Nariangarh, Jhesil Town of Ambala Dist. The C.M.O. of Ambala Dr. S.L. Kaushik was the
chief Guest of the day. Despite very thick fog & low temperatures, a large number of patients
turned out for check-up. A medical Team comprising of Dr. S. Goel (SMO Chest Hospital Ambala) Dr.
Vivek Malhotra, Dr. S. K. Singhal (MD), Dr. K.S.Takkar, Dr. G. Kumar & others examined 237
patients out of which 43 patients were diagnosed of Tuberculosis.
People were informed about the camp by putting banners and distributing leaflets about T.B. Novartis Biochemie distributed free medicines to the patients.
Dr. Kaushik & Mr. Naresh Bhardwaj (President Rotary) both appreciated the “JEET”
programme of Novartis Biochemie, acknowledging that the company had undertaken a very noble task
to eradicate T.B. The event was covered in leading dailies of Northern India. Leading Hindi Daily “DAINIK JAGARAN” published the special interview of Mr. Yash Khetapal who supported the event through out the day to make the Camp a grand success. The weekly Bulletin of Rotarians expressed special gratitude to Novartis Biochemie for its sponsorship of the T.B. Camp.
It will always be our endeavor to organize such T.B. Camps to eradicate T.B. and reach our goal of a TB Free Society. |
